Veeshan's Peak is the fortress of the Ring of Scale, home to some of the most powerful dragons on Kunark. To enter the zone you must possess the Key of Veeshan, obtained by completing a lengthy quest chain with Emperor Ganak in Trakanon's Teeth. The quest requires you to assemble the three lost medallions of the extinct Iksar tribes (Obulus, Jarsath, and Kylong) and bring proof of Trakanon's death.
Each medallion must be reassembled from three scattered pieces by locating the correct NPC historian. Once all three complete medallions and Trakanon's Tooth are in hand, you turn them all in to Emperor Ganak to receive the key.
Key NPCs:
| NPC | Location | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Emperor Ganak (Level 60) | Trakanon's Teeth | Accepts the final 4 items and rewards the Key of Veeshan |
| Slixin Klex (Level 50) | Burning Woods | Assembles the Medallion of the Obulus from 3 pieces |
| Xiblin Fizzlebik (Level 30) | Timorous Deep | Assembles the Medallion of the Jarsath from 3 pieces |
| Professor Akabao (Level 59) | Lake of Ill Omen | Assembles the Medallion of the Kylong from 3 pieces |
Reward: Medallion of the Obulus
Turn in all 3 pieces to Slixin Klex in Burning Woods. Hail him and say "medallion", then "pieces" to learn the locations.
The Piece of a Medallion (Bottom shard of the Obulus Medallion) drops from a pained soul (Level 43) that roams Emerald Jungle and Trakanon's Teeth. The pained soul is an undead iksar ghost.
The Piece of a Medallion (Middle shard of the Obulus Medallion) drops from a rotting skeleton in Trakanon's Teeth. Slixin Klex's dialogue mentions this piece is held by "an iksar ghost in Trakanons."
The Piece of a Medallion (Top shard of the Obulus Medallion) is obtained from Ssolet Dnaas (Level 50) in Warsliks Woods. Hail him and say "search" to learn he wants a Burnished Wooden Stave.
The Burnished Wooden Stave is a loot drop from various NPCs in Chardok. It drops from reanimated iksar undead (a Reanimated Berserker, a Reanimated Champion, a Reanimated Dragoon, a Reanimated Partisan, a Reanimated Conscript), enslaved and tortured iksar miners, sarnak mobs (arbiter, myrmidon, templar, janissary, etc.), and chokidai. Drop rates range from roughly 2.5% to 10% depending on the NPC.
Hand the Stave to Ssolet Dnaas and he will give you the Top Piece.
Ssolet Dnaas says, 'Sssss. Thisss is what I need. You have my thanksss. Please, take thiss. I know not what it iss for but maybe you will find a ussse for it.'
Give all three Pieces of a Medallion (items 19956, 19957, 19958) to Slixin Klex in Burning Woods.
Slixin Klex says, 'Ssssss. I thought I would never see these. I never thought the symbol of our people would be made whole again. I feel no rest for my sssoul though. My torment still flows as freely as when my peoples first suffered fiery death. I need this not. It is useless to me. Here, you take it. Maybe you can find some good to do with it.'
You receive: Medallion of the Obulus.
Reward: Medallion of the Jarsath
Turn in all 3 pieces to Xiblin Fizzlebik in Timorous Deep. Hail him and say "looking for", then "help" to learn the locations. He mentions the pieces were likely hidden in water regions.
The Piece of a Medallion (Bottom shard of the Jarsath Medallion) drops from a bloodgill marauder (Level 40) in Lake of Ill Omen. Bloodgill marauders are goblin-type NPCs found around the lake.
The Piece of a Medallion (Middle shard of the Jarsath Medallion) drops from an ancient Jarsath (Level 42) in Firiona Vie. The ancient Jarsath is a named undead iksar that can be found near the ruins area of the zone.
The Piece of a Medallion (Top shard of the Jarsath Medallion) is a ground spawn in the Swamp of No Hope.

Give all three Pieces of a Medallion (items 19959, 19960, 19961) to Xiblin Fizzlebik in Timorous Deep.
Xiblin Fizzlebik tinkers with the three pieces and snaps the pieces together. 'Wow.. You've done it.. but I suddenly feel very.. strange.. This medallion is cursed! Here, you take it!'
You receive: Medallion of the Jarsath.
Reward: Medallion of the Kylong
Turn in all 3 pieces to Professor Akabao in Lake of Ill Omen. Hail him and say "tribes", then "kylong", then "medallion" to learn the locations. He mentions the pieces are hidden beneath fortresses that are centers of Iksar and Sarnak necromancy.
The Piece of a Medallion (Bottom shard of the Kylong Medallion) is a ground spawn in Kaesora.

The Piece of a Medallion (Middle shard of the Kylong Medallion) is a 100% drop from many NPCs in Karnor's Castle:
The Piece of a Medallion (Top shard of the Kylong Medallion) is obtained from Niblek (Level 10) in Chardok. He is a small goblin NPC who likes shiny things.
Hail Niblek and say "treasure", then "jewelry". He asks for a Black Sapphire and a Ruby.
Niblek says, 'Niblek likes shiny tings very much! You bring Niblek two shiny tings! Niblek has seen black sapphire and ruby! Niblek likes them very much!'
Hand him both gems. He gives you the Top Piece.
Niblek says, 'I much happy now!! I want shiny tings for long time! I give you ugly broken necklace now!'
Give all three Pieces of a Medallion (items 19962, 19963, 19964) to Professor Akabao in Lake of Ill Omen.
Professor Akabao says, 'For ages this medallion has been scattered across these inhospitable lands, I had just about given up hope of locating the pieces and rebuilding this piece of Iksar history. You may keep it. It is enough to know that I have done my part to restore such an artifact to the people of Norrath.'
You receive: Medallion of the Kylong.
Before you can kill Trakanon, you need access to Old Sebilis. If you do not already have the Trakanon Idol, see the Seb Key guide for how to obtain it.
Trakanon's Tooth is a 100% drop from Trakanon (Level 60), the poison dragon boss of Old Sebilis. Trakanon is a raid-level encounter requiring a full raid force. He resides deep within the dungeon.
Trakanon's Tooth is MAGIC LORE NO DROP, so every member of the raid who needs a VP key will need their own kill.
Reward: Key of Veeshan (No Drop — required to zone into Veeshan's Peak)
Locate Emperor Ganak in Trakanon's Teeth. He is a level 60 ghostly Iksar NPC who roams the zone. Hail him and say "Veeshan's Peak" to learn about the key. Say "key to the chambers" and then "task" to hear the full requirements.
Emperor Ganak says, 'I am not so quick to grant someone the key to their death! If you truly wish your doom to fall upon you so soon then bring me the three medallions of the fallen Iksar tribes, Kylong, Obulus, and Jarsath. The tribes were long ago crushed by the warriors of the Kunzar and their remains lie buried beneath ages of rubble. Finding the lost medallions of my people will not be enough to prove yourself worthy of entry into the fortress of the great wurms -- there is another task that you must complete before you return the medallions.'
Emperor Ganak says, 'Those who enter Veeshans Peak uninvited by the lords of the Ring of Scale become nothing more than a snack for the wurms that dwell within its halls. Once you cross the threshold of the Peak there is no escape. Any fool dedicated enough to locate the medallions can do so, but it takes a truly mighty individual to slay the dragon that has plagued my people for ages. I speak of the poison dragon Trakanon, the vile undead wurm that has conquered my peoples greatest wurmslayers. Bring me proof of Trakanons death with the medallions I request and I may deem you worthy of the key to the Ring of Scale.'
Hand the following four items to Emperor Ganak at the same time:
Emperor Ganak says, 'I must say, I thought your flesh would be rotting from your bones alongside the remains of the ancient Sebilisians. I commend you on your victory over the poison dragon and thank you for returning the ancient medallions of my people. I reward you with the key you seek. A place shall be prepared for your souls among the most honored of the dead. Soon you will be seeing the world through the shroud of death.'
You receive: Key of Veeshan.
With the Key of Veeshan on your person, travel to Skyfire Mountains and use the zone-in to Veeshan's Peak. The key is added to your key ring upon first use, so you will not need to carry it in the future.
