Overview

Sleeper's Tomb is one of the most famous raid zones in EverQuest history, home to the four Warders who guard Kerafyrm, the Sleeper. To enter the zone you must possess the Key to the Sleeper's Tomb, obtained through a quest involving four key pieces — one dropped by each Warder.

This is a self-contained chain: to get the key, you must kill the Warders once to get the key pieces, then assemble the key. However, the Warders are the primary content of Sleeper's Tomb itself. The key therefore serves as proof of progression rather than a pre-requisite for first entry — on most servers, the key is required to re-enter the zone on subsequent visits.

Note on the Sleeper: Kerafyrm can be woken by killing all four Warders. This is a permanent, server-wide event that removes all four Warders from the game forever. Most servers coordinate carefully to avoid accidentally waking the Sleeper.

The Four Warders

Each Warder is a Prismatic Dragon — immensely powerful, with unique abilities corresponding to their element. All four must be defeated to obtain the key pieces.

All four Warders are No Drop, all drop their respective key fragments alongside gear. They hit for massive damage and have powerful AE spells. Full raid forces of 50+ are expected.

Step-by-Step Guide

Gaining Access to Sleeper's Tomb (First Entry)

Reach Sleeper's Tomb in the Eastern Wastes

Sleeper's Tomb is located in the Eastern Wastes. The zone entrance is in the far eastern section of the zone. The surrounding area has aggressive undead and other Velious creatures. Travel with your raid force.

Initial access: speak with a Coldain spirit NPC or dragon spirit at the entrance

Some server implementations allow initial entry without a key; the key is required for all subsequent visits. Check with your server's specific rules. On strict servers, working with Yelinak or the Claws of Veeshan faction may be required for initial access.

Killing the Four Warders

Kill Ventani the Striker and loot Ventani's Key Fragment

Ventani is found in the north wing of Sleeper's Tomb. He is a melee-focused Warder with extremely high damage output. Main tank needs maximal avoidance and HP. His key fragment is on his corpse alongside tier-appropriate loot.

Kill Nanzata the Warder and loot Nanzata's Key Fragment

Nanzata is in the east wing. Each Warder has distinctive abilities — prepare for AE spells and positional challenges. Assign a secondary tank in case the primary tank falls.

Kill Tukaarak the Warder and loot Tukaarak's Key Fragment

Tukaarak is in the south wing. Clear trash mobs in the wing carefully before pulling Tukaarak — adds during the Warder fights are catastrophic.

Kill Vyskudra the Ancient and loot Vyskudra's Key Fragment

Vyskudra is in the west wing. After killing all four Warders — stop here. If all four are dead simultaneously, it can trigger the awakening of Kerafyrm. Ensure your raid leadership is aligned on the plan before engaging the final Warder.

Assembling the Key to Sleeper's Tomb

Combine all four Key Fragments to create the Key to Sleeper's Tomb

Place all four Warder Key Fragments into a combining device (bag or container) inside Sleeper's Tomb and combine them. The result is the Key to Sleeper's Tomb, a No Drop item that allows re-entry on all future visits.

Keep this key safe — it is No Drop and cannot be replaced if lost.
